Disaster Recovery Payments for Workers Hit by Tropical Cyclone Alfred

Workers who have lost income due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred can now access disaster recovery payments, the federal government has announced.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed on Monday that the disaster recovery payments will be available for eligible workers in 31 local government areas across south-east Queensland and northern NSW. The payment provides up to 13 weeks of income support for those affected by the extreme weather event.
Emergency Management Minister Jenny McAllister said the assistance would help impacted individuals as they begin the recovery process.
“We’re acting quickly to make financial assistance for impacted individuals and families available,” she said.
