The holiday spirit has finally arrived, and it’s our favourite time to catch up with friends and family, eat delicious food and enjoy the much deserved break.
Initiated by Black Friday, we can definitely tell that the shopping season is here. Nobody likes to stress about Christmas gifts for work colleagues and loved ones, but sometimes the list is just too long and the task seems hard to tackle without doing some wallet damage and spending too much time in shopping malls or online.
To keep you motivated and make it easier for you, we came up with some simple but helpful hacks to help you sail smoothly through the holiday season.
#1: Don’t miss out on the online sale events
Black Friday might be over, but many brands and online stores are still doing sales and special offers. It’s not a bad idea to sign up for certain newsletters to make sure you get on those last minute deals; you can always unsubscribe later!
#2: Family and friends Secret Santa
A Secret Santa system is a must in workplaces so you don’t have to buy gifts for each and every person. If you’re spending Christmas with a lot of relatives or friends, you can suggest this modality: instead of buying small presents for everyone, each person gets a thoughtful gift and, let’s face it, a lot less stress from shopping.
#3: Click and collect!
The biggest disadvantage about buying online is shipping times. We’ve all heard and read on the news that Australia will be suffering even worse delays than previous years.
That’s why our suggestion is to choose local stores that offer a click and collect service to avoid that nerve-racking waiting situation and large crowds, parking and more.
#4: Boxing Day is still an option
It’s quite common to have more than one Christmas celebration: you might have organised dinner with friends or your in-laws on the 27th or maybe even after New Year. In than case, if you want to get good gifts for everyone post-Christmas , better take advantage of Boxing Day specials! You can bookmark the items you liked and then buy them online on that same day- and click and collect is the safest option for that day…
#5: Take advantage of the extended returns policy
If you are STILL unsure of how to smash out your Christmas shopping list, bulk buy your presents and then take advantage of the extended returns policies that the holiday season blesses us with. That’s right, most stores extend their returns policy during Christmas until the end of January. This gives you plenty of time to decide what to buy your loved ones, and if they don’t like it or if it doesn’t fit them, you can return it without a worry.
